Sheer Blooms

Terms & Conditions of Floral Hire

Introductory Pricing

These Terms cover the hire, styling and installation of floral and decorative items ("Hire Items") between Sheer Blooms ("we", "us") and you, the client named on the Booking Form. Confirming your booking or paying a deposit means you accept these Terms in full. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, covered in Clause 12.

1. Booking & Payment

  • Your booking is confirmed once we've received your completed Booking Form and your non-refundable deposit of £300.
  • We'll need your final design and quantities confirmed in writing at least 6 weeks before your Event. Anything not confirmed by then will be delivered based on our professional judgement from your last written brief.
  • It's important that we hold our final meeting around the 6-week mark, this is where we confirm every detail together and lock in your design before we begin building your pieces.
  • Your remaining balance is due 8 weeks before your Event. If payment hasn't been received by this date, we reserve the right to release the date and retain the deposit.

2. Venue Timings

Every venue works a little differently, so we ask you to confirm the following details directly with your venue and note them alongside, then send this page back to us at least 14 days before your Event. This helps us plan your set-up and collection accurately, so your day runs exactly as it should.

Access / set-up time
Room turnaround (if applicable)
Sit-down / dinner time
Collection time
Late or midnight collection required? (Y/N)

3. Design & Setup

We design and style your Event around the inspiration, colours and ideas you share with us, and everything we create is guided by your brief. On the day, we use our professional judgement to adapt the design to the space, the light and the practical conditions we're working with, so we'll always aim for the look we agreed, though we can't guarantee an exact replication of a layout shown in advance.

4. Hire Items — Whose They Are & How to Treat Them

  • Everything we bring stays our property throughout, unless it's clearly listed as a Sale Item on your Booking Form.
  • Hire Items are decorative only, please don't use them for anything else, expose them to a naked flame, or take them apart or alter them without checking with us first.
  • Everything arrives clean and in good condition, ready for your day.
  • At this introductory rate, the bridal bouquet and groom's buttonhole are hired as standard, just like everything else. If you'd like to keep your bouquet, that's £80, and the buttonhole is £20, just let us know and confirm it in writing before your Event. Everything else, including bridesmaids' bouquets and any extra buttonholes, stays part of the hire collection regardless.

5. Moving Items Between Spaces

If you'd like your florals moved between spaces, for example from your ceremony to your reception, please let us know in advance and we're happy to arrange this for the additional fee shown in your quote. Where you or your venue choose to reposition items without us, responsibility for their placement and condition passes to you from that point, and we're unable to accept liability for how they appear once they're outside our care.

6. Damage & Everyday Wear

A little wear and tear over the course of your Event, light handling, small bits shifting about, is completely normal and never something we'll charge for. Where something is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond that, you'll be responsible for covering the cost of replacing it. We photograph everything as it's set up and again when we collect, so there's always a clear record to go by.

7. Cancellation

  • More than 12 weeks before your Event: your deposit is forfeited, with no further charge.
  • Between 12 and 8 weeks before your Event: 50% of your total booking value becomes payable.
  • Within 8 weeks of your Event: the full balance becomes payable, in line with your final payment date, as by this point your flowers are sourced and your design work is largely complete.

8. If Something's Not Right

If you're ever unhappy with the standard, quantity or condition of your florals, or with how the day's timings were managed, please contact us in writing at info@sheerblooms.co.uk within 48 hours of your Event, along with a few dated photographs. We'll acknowledge your message within 3 working days and provide a full response within 7 working days.

9. Keeping Everyone Safe

  • Buttonholes can be provided either as traditional pin-on styles or in a slide-in format. We're unable to accept responsibility for any damage caused to clothing during wear.
  • Certain pieces contain small or wired components; we recommend keeping these out of reach of young children and pets, and handling them with care.
  • If anyone in your party has a sensitivity to materials such as wire, floral foam or adhesive, please let us know in advance.

10. When Things Are Out of Our Hands

Every so often, something happens that's genuinely beyond our control, a vehicle breaking down, bad weather, illness, an accident, a closed road. If that ever affects your booking, we'll let you know as soon as we possibly can and arrange the best alternative we're able to, including a partial refund where that's fair.

11. Photography & Marketing

We reserve the right to take photographs and/or videos of our floral displays and setups for use in our marketing materials, including but not limited to our website, social media, and portfolio. We're always mindful of your celebration and won't share identifiable images publicly on the day itself. If you'd prefer your images weren't used at all, just let us know in writing before your Event. Any designs, styling concepts or photography we create for your day remain our property and shouldn't be reproduced or used commercially without our permission.

12. Your Rights & Our Liability

Nothing here takes away from your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; you're entitled to a service carried out with reasonable care and skill, and goods that match what was described and are of satisfactory quality. Outside of death, personal injury or fraud, the most we're liable for on any one Event is the total amount you've paid for it.

Acknowledgement

You can accept these Terms by paying your deposit, confirming in writing that you're happy to go ahead, or by submitting your completed Booking Form, whichever happens first. If anything is unclear, please raise it with us before your booking is confirmed, we're always glad to talk it through.
